Maruti Suzuki Plans Rs 561 Crore Investment in Four Biogas Plants
Maruti Suzuki plans to invest Rs 561 crore to establish four biogas plants and increase renewable energy use across its manufacturing facilities. The first 10-tonne-per-day plant will come up at Kharkhoda in FY27 and meet around 20% of the facility's gas needs. Maruti also plans to use more than 20 tonnes of biogas daily by FY31. The company expects biogas to reduce reliance on CNG and coal while supporting cleaner production, better soil quality, reduced crop burning, and higher rural incomes.
